Wiezel Behavior, Opinions, and Relations between Groups (BORG) Lab

Welcome to the Behavior, Opinions, and Relations between Groups (BORG) Lab at Elon University's Department of Psychology. Led by Dr. Adi Wiezel, our lab explores the intricate dynamics of social (and political) psychology through an interdisciplinary lens.

Our Research Focus

We investigate fundamental social psychological processes such as intergroup relations, attitudes, and preferences, employing theories and methods from psychology and political science alike. Our research addresses pressing questions such as: “what do people prefer in in leaders?”, “what is the structure of people’s political attitudes?”, and “how to we improve relations between groups, including political ones?”.

Helping Hands

Mentorship Through Our Lab

Undergraduate researchers at BORG gain hands-on training and mentorship in social science research, empirical analysis, and critical thinking, while earning course credits at Elon (typically via PSY 4999 credits).

We take pride in our selective mentorship program to ensure a high-quality experience. While we only accept new members periodically, we are happy to connect with students interested in our work.

For opportunities to get involved, please reach out to Dr. Wiezel at awiezel@elon.edu.
